Tucked away in rural Bibb County on a plot of land where two rivers converge, this country house was built as a place where the owner and his son could enjoy the outdoors. We had the pleasure of working with Nequette Architecture and Design on this refined and rustic riverside retreat. Inside and out, the home embraces nature with every detail. The exterior is constructed entirely of hickory bark. Large windows throughout create a floating treehouse effect. And the soft, neutral color palette and natural wood walls are warm and welcoming. The open concept combines the two-story living room, dining room and kitchen and features a soaring stone fireplace, and a large canoe hangs high above. A roomy screen porch provides a breezy spot for morning coffee and listening to the rapids rushing past below.
