This classic two-story, three-bedroom apartment crowns a historic building in Chicago’s Gold Coast area. The home was fully renovated for a globetrotting couple with a great eye for design and fabulous collection of eclectic artwork. We worked with Paul Bates Architects to reimagine this traditional space into a magnificent modern masterpiece. White fabrics and paint, clean-lined furnishings and a good dose of dark colored details provide balance, definition and a touch of drama. A large two-story steel window in the living room floods the space with natural light and beautifully accentuates the finer details of the original wood molding.
